A Bit About Felicia
Felicia Betts is a New York–based voice teacher dedicated to helping singers become versatile musicians and performers by equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to achieve their musical aspirations. A lifelong learner and voice science enthusiast, she is passionate about helping students build voices that feel authentic, strong, and reliable. Her lessons are focused, collaborative, and fun, blending evidence-based voice science with practical application so students understand not only how to sing, but why. Felicia especially enjoys helping singers who feel stuck by creating personalized systems that take the guesswork out of vocal development and empower them to achieve goals they once thought were impossible.
Felicia holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. During her graduate studies, she served as a graduate assistant in Westminster's renowned Presser Voice Laboratory, where she supported students and contributed to vocal technology and voice science research. She continues to serve as the lab expert for Westminster Choir College's Summer Voice Pedagogy Institute, creating laboratory reports for graduate credit and assisting participants with voice laboratory technologies.
Currently, Felicia serves as Chair of the Advancement Committee for the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), where she works to cultivate a culture of philanthropy and strengthen the organization's national and regional fundraising efforts. She believes giving back to the voice community through service and advancement work is an important part of her mission as both a teacher and leader.
As a performer, Felicia has sung with the Philadelphia Orchestra as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir, recorded Aurora with the award-winning and Grammy-nominated Westminster Williamson Voices, and appeared in numerous opera productions, most recently as an Esprit in Massenet's Cendrillon.
