Shayla Moon

A Bit About Shayla

Shayla Moon is a passionate educator dedicated to bringing out the best in her students. A graduate of Rowan University, she earned a Theatre degree with concentrations in Acting, Musical Theatre, and Pre-Teaching, along with a minor in Dance. Her training spans multiple areas of performance, reflecting a lifelong love of the arts.

From a young age, Shayla was constantly singing and performing for friends and family. At 10, she joined the Princeton Girl Choir, where she began developing her vocal skills more formally. Soon after, she started voice lessons and launched her musical theatre journey with the Hopewell Valley Children’s Theatre. Dance became part of her life in sixth grade and has remained a consistent passion ever since.

During her time at Hopewell Valley Central High School, Shayla was deeply involved in the performing arts. She participated in the Chambers Honors Choir, performed in school musicals, and continued her dance and voice training. As a member of the school’s performing arts academy, she earned recognition for her contributions, including awards for Exceptional Dramatic Ability, Outstanding Achievement in Dance, and Contributions to Musical Theatre. Her involvement extended to the National Dance Honors Society and Thespian Troupe 7964.

In college, Shayla continued to refine her craft and began working more intensively with a vocal coach. After graduating, she has remained active in performance and is frequently seen on stage with her Music Mountain Theatre family in Lambertville, New Jersey.

Beyond the performing arts, Shayla has a deep appreciation for the outdoors. She feels most at home in the mountains or by the ocean, enjoying activities like swimming, hiking, and scuba diving. With a strong passion for travel and adventure, she is always eager to explore new places. As a certified yoga instructor, she enjoys both teaching and maintaining her own practice.
